SEEDSCANNER uses the latest technology to minimize thepreviously labor-intensive foreign seed detection in grain samples . Itreducesmanual labor by >90% and workers' health risks.
Seeds currently processed by Seedscanner include wheat, barley, rye, oats and triticale.
Seedscanner technology has been used by the Swedish Agriculture Board since 1985. A third generation Seedscanner is launched in 2020.
The unique patented mirror design visualizes each grain from three different angles, enabling virtually the entire surface of the grain to be examined using advanced image analysis.
Multiple images of each grain and overall sample result can be printed, exported and saved so they can be easily accessed later. Each rejected grain can also be inspected individually.
SEEDSCANNER is equipped with a robot that processes sample cups. The samples are handled gently, avoiding any damage or alteration to the seeds.
Seed samples are analyzed and divided into two fractions. The larger fraction contains the superior seeds in the sample, while the smaller fraction contains only atypical seeds, including foreign species. The larger fraction is considered impurity-free and is not further analyzed.
Only 5 – 10% of grains need manual processing and visual inspection.
SEEDSCANNER helps keep workload low and reduces the large amount of monotonous manual labor previously required. Your staff takes fewer samples for a more diverse job and manual processing. Seedscanner has a compact design, low noise level and therefore both improves the working environment and meets quality assurance requirements.
