SmartSampler™ is the perfect solution for customers running large numbers of samples. SmartSampler allows feed labs, seed growers, agricultural labs and any customer running hundreds of samples every day to load a batch of samples for unattended analysis. Once a batch of samples is loaded and the instrument is started, the operator is free to perform other tasks, saving valuable time.

The SmartSampler is designed to work with the SpectraStar XL top window platform and uses the traditional ring dish, which has been a standard in the Agriculture industry for the past 30 years. Once placed in the instrument, the sample cup is rotated for better accuracy. Customers who choose SpectraStar XL and SmartSampler can save money by using existing ring sample cups.

The system works by loading ring mugs on the SmartSampler's towers. Each of the three towers can contain up to 24 samples for a total of 72 samples. A batch method is then programmed into the InfoStar software to identify the samples and their locations. Multiple sample types can be loaded and estimated based on appropriate calibration models. All results in SpectraStar are stored in Excel format by batch run and product type.

Including the scanning time, each sample is analyzed in less than 1 minute, providing high throughput and productivity of 60 samples per hour. Existing SpectraStar XL systems can be easily retrofitted to include SmartSampler.
